Dementia is typically associated with getting older. However, there are several different types of dementia caused by different conditions. Each has some symptoms in common with all the others, but each also has its own symptoms. This is why it is important to have an understanding of dementia symptoms and what they mean.

Senile dementia and Alzeimer’s dementia are both associated with old age. They are often mistaken for one another by non-medically trained personnel. Doctors have specific tests they can run to determine which type a patient is suffering from. This helps them in providing treatment for their patients’ conditions.

The most commonly seen symptom is loss of memory. This can be almost total or patchy. Many people begin to remember events from many years in the past clearly while they are unable to remember recent events. Others lose long term memory and keep their short term memory intact.

Not recognizing close family members, friends, and/or familiar places is typically associated with Alzheimer’s. However, it can be caused by senility in rare cases. Another common symptom is the inability to express thoughts or to name objects, even those handled on a daily basis.

For some people, dementia causes them to lose the ability to carry out normal tasks such as balancing checkbooks or following a written recipe. Some have difficulty performing routine calculations or exercising judgment such as that needed to react to an emergency.

Depression can be a common symptom. This can become severe enough that the person fails to take care of personal grooming or bathing properly. Being moody can be a part of this as well. The person may not seem to care about anything or they may fly off the handle at the slightest provocation.

In addition to these general dementia symptoms, some types have unique symptoms that can be identified quickly. One form, known as dementia with Lewy bodies, causes people to experience very detailed hallucinations visually. Frequent falling is also a symptom of this type of dementia.

Frontotemporal dementia can cause complete personality changes. Unusual behavior can be seen as well. Individuals may reach a point where they do not care about anybody else. They could be extremely rude verbally or make explicit sexual comments. Exposing themselves is also seen.

If symptoms develop very suddenly, a unique type of dementia known as vascular dementia may be present. The person may become delirious or experience short-term confusion as a result of a new illness or one that is getting rapidly worse.

Getting older does not automatically mean that one will become senile or develop any form of dementia. In fact, there is no certain age at which one should look for signs of onset. This disease has several different causes that can be identified by physicians. Some can be treated wit more success than others. However, before an effective treatment can be found, an understanding of dementia symptoms must be developed. This involves identifying those symptoms that are shared by most types of dementia as well as unique ones that are generally associated with only a single type.

Dementia is basically a disease of brain in which memory loss, refuses of reasoning and some other abilities of mind collective known as cognitive functions, starts to create problem. When in any particular person the loss of memory which causes him/her to forget about even everyday chores like washing, cooking, driving, and going to office or to study, becomes knowledgeable they are main symptoms and a cause of dementia. Many are looking for Dementia Treatment Guidelines.

Dementia chances are about one percent in sixty to seventy years aged people. But conditions and symptoms can be varying from person to person. Sometimes, some people feel fail to remember the names but they can easily solve complex and tough mathematical problems. There are many treatments that are available to cure this disease but if it is diagnosed at right time before it’s too late.

As we know that medical sciences are trying to sort out the problems of illness and they had made good medicines and drugs that can cure dementia but the herbal treatment dementia is among the best option available. It not only cure the symptoms but it also helps to bring back memory loss as it based on some ayurvedic methods and have no side effects.

When we talk about treatment of dementia, we can characterize it in two parts; one is reversible and other is irreversible. The irreversible can cause a serious damage to cortical and sub-cortical areas that mostly occurs in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and vascular dementia. And in the reversible head injuries, fluids in brain, tumors, hormonal and metabolic disorders, lack of supply of oxygen into brains, toxics exposure, and drug reactions are listed.

The slow progressive diseases of the brain are Alzheimer’s (AD). It usually occurs due to the impairment in the mind and results in a disturbance are thinking, reasoning, language, planning and perception. Some other factors like old age, high blood pressure, genetic factors, coronary artery diseases, trauma, high cholesterol, and not a good scoring in academia. Now to overcome all these problems herbal treatment dementia can work in order to cure the factors to secure memory from forgetting.

One of the herbal treatments is to intake good amount of food which is higher in proteins. Proteins help to create new blood cells and repair old cells. This procedure can further increase the level of oxygen in the blood and can help mind to start working. Sometimes, dysfunction of brains and destruction of neurotransmitters are causes of this problem. To solve this problem some herbal medicines including Pancha-Tikta-Ghruta, Tinospora cordifolia, Guggulu, Amalaki and Cyperus rotundus are very effective.

Another ayurvedic herbal medicine which is very famous and helps to improve the workings of the brain called Medhya is widely used. It is little expensive but it is very useful to help recover of memory loss. Some more medicines including in the category of Medhya are Mandukparni, Glycerrhiza glabra, Nelumbo nucifera, Guduchi, Bacopa monnieri also known as brahmi, Acorus calamus and Convolvulus pluricaulis are worth to use to treat dementia and to protect brains from further reactions that can lead to death.

Before getting to the point of this article, it is important to understand the difference between senility and senile dementia. These aspects are two entirely different things and hence not to be confused with at any point. When a person ages, a natural process occurs whereby a gradual deterioration of the brain cells starts to occur which causes impairment in daily functioning. This can include memory loss, loss of balance in motor activities, increased fatigue and many others. However, senile dementia occurs when the brain cells start degenerating. Statistics have shown that this can occur in a large number of aged people and hence care needs to be taken.

Data has proven that over 15% of people that are above the age of 66, show senile dementia symptoms or symptoms of some other form of dementia for sure. Around 16% in every 1000 people in the United States alone are definitely affected by Dementia and may develop one form of it or the other and eventually leading up to senile dementia symptoms. Dementia is more or less where brain tissue gets damaged and due to that various bodily disturbances are caused. It is necessary to be aware of senile dementia symptoms in order to be able to look for the right kid of treatment. The various senile dementia symptoms include memory loss to a certain extent, apathy which is a lack of interest in virtually anything, disturbance in motor balance and co-ordination, disorientation, extreme fatigue, social withdrawal which can often lead up to social impairment or lack of social skills. This can cause significant problems since the person with senile dementia becomes utterly unsure of how to act appropriately in a public place. There is also an acute kind of confusion where the person becomes temporarily unsettled.

Anxiety and slight panic is also a common senile dementia symptom. These come under the category of early stage symptoms. The middle stage ones include severe confusion, even aggressive behaviour, and instability in emotions, increased assistance, and decrease in learning and cognitive abilities as well. the severe stage symptoms are violent reactions to certain issues, loss of weight, the inability to recognize loved ones which is memory loss, neglecting one’s hygiene, not being able to walk, not being able to have control over urination and defecation and auditory as well as visual hallucinations. Moreover communication issues and a complete loss of cognitive ability can significantly render a person’s life difficult.

There are many diseases that are associated with old age and as a person grows, more and more problems begin to develop. Moreover, as the world is advancing, human beings have started to survive less and less. Statistics have shown that on average human beings 15 years ago would live to the age of 80+. Nowadays, there are 30 year olds who are dying due to heart attacks, cancer or some such other disease. Dementia is basically a disease of the brain that is associated with old age.

Not all men and women develop it but some have a risk. As we all have repeatedly studied over the years that our brain has various parts and these parts have various functions. The frontal lobe is one part of the brain that controls a person’s behaviour as well as mood. The symptoms have many common occurrences with the symptoms of Alzheimer’s as well.

Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are two old age diseases that are very much interlinked. Frontotemporal Lobe Dementia has many complexities. It has been knows to occur at any time, any age and even gender which is why it is slightly different from other types of Dementia. There are various symptoms associated with this disease and the most commonly found one is change or alterations in mood, personality and behaviour.

This is essentially because Frontotemporal dementia has a direct link with the frontal lobe in the brain which of course controls mood and behaviour. Symptoms of Frontotemporal dementia also include significant impairment when it comes to social skills. This lack of being able to ac appropriately in a social setting can have quite drastic effects or consequences for the person who has this kind of dementia. Behaviour can prove to be inappropriate, bizarre, and even out of context. Inappropriate behaviour may include aspects like being too keen and enthusiastic with complete strangers, eating with one’s fingers when in a public restaurant, making strange gestures, and the list goes on. Other Fronto temporal dementia symptoms include the fact that the person becomes apathetic and lethargic. He or she may not have the same kinds of interests anymore, or like they used to when it came to a certain task. There is a huge change in activity level and the patient will be too indifferent to care.

Fronto temporal dementia symptoms have been known to include a significant lack of motivation as well. on the surface, this may look like depression but do not have sad or morose feelings when it comes to the patient.

Vascular Dementia Symtoms is caused by the obscurity in the supply of blood to the brain. Someone with this disease undergoes complications like remembering, solving problems or they can even face problems concentrating on specific things. It may develop due to many reasons. The brain cells require a good supply of blood in order to function properly. Vascular system is the network of blood vessels through which blood is delivered. The brain cells will eventually die if this system gets damaged or do not provide blood to the brain cells. This can lead to the initial stage of Vascular Dementia Symptoms.

A number of factors contribute to this, such as high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes and high cholesterol. To avoid experiencing this syndrome, it is important to treat the factors leading to its growth. The Vascular Dementia symptoms should be addressed properly if we want to live a life free of this painful disease. The rate at which it progresses varies from person to person. More commonly, people dealing with Vascular Dementia have to face problems in concentrating and communicating with people. Their ability to understand even the simplest things is undermined due to the lack of concentration.

Their condition is often followed by depression which occurs mainly due to the feeling of being inferior to others. The patient’s physical health plays a big part in determining the symptoms of vascular dementia in his/her body. If a person feels physically week consistently and experiences stroke or paralysis, he should get his proper check up done. Even though memory is no the only thing, still you should not take it for granted if you keep forgetting things on a regular basis. One may also feel that the Vascular Dementia symptoms often occur at a constant level but then they suddenly disappear too. This is often referred to as “stepped” progression.

He/she may also encounter delusions i.e., to believe something which is not true. With delusion, there also come hallucinations, i.e., seeing things that do not exist. Epileptic seizures are another symptom of vascular dementia. The patient suffering from the disease will also have to bear with the periods of acute confusion. Other symptoms contributing also include walking about and getting lost, physical or verbal aggression, restlessness and incontinence. Incontinence may occur during coughing, laughing, lifting heavy items or making other movements that pressurizes the bladder.

There are some reasons that can increase the risk of dementia in a human body. Some of them include stroke occurring at consistent levels and sleep apnea which occurs when breathing stops during sleep. If a person is less physically active and doesn’t work out at all then also he can have problems. If drinking increases the given level of alcohol in a body, smoking excessively and eating unbalanced diet which includes consuming a lot of fat is also troublesome. If any of your family members has suffered from vascular dementia, it also raises the risk. People belonging to Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka or African-Caribbean ethnic backgrounds are more prone to this disease.

Approximately 1.3 million individuals and their families in the United States are affected by it. The scientist Friederich H. Lewy discovered abnormal protein deposits that disrupt the brain’s normal functioning in early 1900’s. He found this while researching Parkinson’s disease. These abnormal proteins are dispersed throughout the areas of the brain, including the cerebral cortex.

The brain chemical acetylcholine is depleted which results into disorder of perception, thinking and behavior. Lewy Body Dementia can exist either in its original form, or in combination with other brain changes, including those commonly seen in Alzheimer and Parkinson’s disease. Since Lewy Body Dementia Symptoms can closely resemble those found in Alzheimer and Parkinson’s disease, it is currently widely under diagnosed. Many doctors and medical professionals are still unfamiliar with LBD.

Lewy Body Dementia’s initial stage can vary from person to person. Sometimes those patients with LBD initially have a moving disorder that looks like Parkinson’s but later they also develop Lewy Body Dementia Symptoms. Other patients are believed to have a memory disorder that looks like the one found in Alzheimer’s but they later develop hallucinations and other behavior problems. With the period of time, many people with LBD have to undergo a spectrum of problems that include great differences in attention and alertness from day to day life.

Autopsy is a good way to identify Lewy Body Dementia Symptoms. This accurate diagnosis depends heavily on physician awareness of the important characteristics of the disease. A brain scan can detect mental weakening, but not the actual Lewy bodies.

People with severe mental health problems are given strong tranquillizers but they can be dangerous for people with LBD. Studies show that they can even lead to the death of a patient.

Various symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia include mental decline in which people experience less attention towards a specific element. Recurring hallucinations related to animals or people and depression is also common in such patients. These hallucinations are not necessarily frightening to them. They often see a simple task to be the most difficult one and their performance becomes low. There can be body stiffness in the legs and arms as well which can result into frequent falls. Insomnia also makes it way towards them and they have to bear with sleep disturbances.

There may be more obvious uncertainty between the dream and waking reality when the person wakes up. This is also referred to as REM Sleep Behavior Disorder (RBD). It may actually be the initial symptom of Lewy Body Dementia in some patients. RBD is also now considered a major factor for increasing the risk of LBD. They also come across variations in autonomic processes such as high body temperature and blood pressure, difficulties in swallowing, urinary problems and constipation. Other symptoms such as difficulties in forming their viewpoint about a certain thing, object orientation and directional sense may also happen. Regular checkup, balanced diet and exercising is recommendable to deal with such situation. This can help lessen the symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia.
